“Roll”down your window and enjoy this iconic lake country classic drive in, with car waitress service. Picnic tables for sitting outside of your car. If it’s busy, you may get your Custard or food quicker by ordering at the counter as you may have to idle behind another car until a car port spot opens up for service. My personal favorite is the Turtle Sunday with a Root beer float in close 2nd!
Cash only. Go for the drive in experience. Not the food. The custard is kind of like a mix between McDonald’s and Culver’s. If you want custard, stick with Culver’s.
Pro tip. If the flags are up, they are open.
Extra stars for free pup cups. They give a decent portion with a dog bone on top.
Cash only. I ordered the cheese fries 🍟 and double cheeseburger 🍔. Fries were good and seasoned well, the cheese had been sitting in it's container for quite a while though, some of it had dried out. The burger was ok, the meat lacked flavor and the texture was a bit weird. Cost was $12. Quality was about what you would get from Burger King, not bad but nothing to get excited about. I may come back to try their chicken and cheese curds but I wouldn't order the burger again. Service was quick and the server was pleasant.
Nice little drive in restaurant. Chicken tenders and cheese curds are great! The burger is not so great. And the vanilla ice cream has an odd flavor to it. The waitresses are very good. This place is busy!! Cars are always double parked. You need to know that they only accept cash payment. No credit cards or checks.
Always enjoy The Kilties food, custard and ambiance 🤗 Birgers, chicken, bbq sandwich, homemade custard for sundaes, gloats and mixers …how can you go wrong! Fun drive in experience during the summer. …
Visited for the first time 8/12/23. What a hidden gem. I've probably been by this place a dozen times on Hwy 16 and never knew it was there. My son and I each had burgers and we shared some fries. He had a black cow for dessert and I had a turtle sundae. Everything was excellent. Service was also very good and we will definitely be returning soon.
Classic and hip all at the same time. Food is amazing, ice cream/custard is amazing, service is amazing fast and fun! Kiltie is a must-go. They deliver outstanding food and fun, season after season. Thanks. Will keep visiting forever! Love this place.
Service was great, bratwurst was the best I've had in a while, and nostalgia/ambiance was perfect. It also allowed our dog to join us since we're road tripping with him.
However, being cash only wasn't ideal, so we couldn't get as much as we had intended. The Kilteburger and cheese fries (seasoned) were a miss, can't recommend. Oreo flurry was as expected, so not disappointing, but not impressive either.
Overall, it was an okay joint to stop at, but I wouldn't go out of your way.
